In fact, we love Detroit and believe our geographic location is a huge advantage. There are amazing, talented people in this region yet it is under-served from a venture capital standpoint. We’ve got all the right ingredients – talent, infrastructure, governmental support, low costs, fabulous real estate, world-class airport, top higher education – and just need someone to help connect the dots. We are thrilled to be that someone.

We love Detroit so much that we are devoting our careers to rebuilding this incredible city. We believe that entrepreneurship can drive meaningful social change – creating jobs, wealth, and hope. Where others see the remains of a time gone by, we see enormous opportunity.

We often close our eyes and imagine Detroit 2.0 – where our best days are ahead of us, not behind. Detroit can once again become a vortex of energy. A center of digital technology, commerce, and opportunity.

It’s time for us all to stop pointing fingers and start rebuilding this city one step at a time. We’re completely committed to making Detroit a city to be reckoned with. Are you?

In the midst of economic catastrophe, a new breed of hyper-growth company has emerged. Despite global recession and financial meltdown, companies like GROUPON, Zynga, QuickenLoans, Facebook, Zappos, and Google have enjoyed meteoric growth and profits. The common threads of their success are hyper-growth cultures – a shared philosophy of business that enables breakaway results.

Especially in early-stage companies, we believe that culture becomes the most important competitive advantage. WHO you are drives WHAT you do. We have some strong opinions in this area – to the point of fanatical proselytizing in fact. We’ve built DVP on a specific cultural framework and look to back entrepreneurs with shared values. Can’t wait to tell you all about it. Don’t worry, no sacrificing chickens or anything too weird!
